Murphy's Steakhouse

The girls and I went to Bartlesville, OK today with my parents to see the grandparents and to go to lunch.  We went to Murphy's Steakhouse which I highly recommend (but not for the steak).  If you are ever in town you must (MUST, I COMMAND YOU!) get the Hot Hamburger (gravy over all).  I was a little skeptical at first but it was so good!

It is quite small but I believe it is still family owned and the service is great!

After lunch we drove around Bartlesville and visited where my dad grew up and a few other places which I remember going to as a child (some of which no longer exist).  It is funny to see just how quickly things change over the years.

The embroidery/sewing pictures will have to wait because I am in Tulsa visiting with the parents and won't be back home until tomorrow!

The Grass is Always Greener....

or maybe its the leaves, for this guy at least!  We spent the day at the OKC Zoo.

It was a pretty cool day temperature wise so all of the animals were out and about.  This giraffe was apparently unhappy with the selection off greenery on his side of the fence so he decided to check out the neighbors.

All in all we had a good day.  The kiddos were worn out when we got home (and me too).  I was hoping to work on tiling the tub walls in the bathroom but I was worn out...so I didn't!

 

 

More Tile!!

I tiled my little closet today.  I did it all by myself!!  It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.  I think I will still let my dad do the grouting though....baby steps!

My oldest had her 6 teeth removed yesterday.  She did really well but after the surgery was super groggy and out of it for most of the day.  Today she is in a little more pain than she was yesterday.  I guess once all of the anesthetic made it out of her system it started to hurt more.  Over all she is doing quite well even though she sounds a little funny when she talks.  Like most things it will take some getting used to! 

Big Day Tomorrow!!

Tomorrow is a huge day!  My oldest is having oral surgery and they are taking out six teeth.  Most of them have not even broken through the gums yet.  Her mouth is just so tiny that she does not have enough room for all of her teeth.  It makes me very nervous but hopefully everything will go well.

On another note, we just returned from spending a few days in Tulsa with my parents.  We took the girls to see Ice Age 3:  Dawn of the Dinosaurs and they loved it.  The 3D effects were awesome!  Then that night we went to see the play Oklahoma.  The girls got pretty restless but all of the adults enjoyed it!

Saturday morning my youngest lost one of her upper front teeth which she was extremely proud of.  Here she at the park by the river sporting her new look.  They had a small splash park that all the kids could play in while waiting for the fireworks to start.  Unfortunately once they did start, they ended abruptly.  It looked like there was a small explosion on the ground followed by a bunch of fireworks going off.  We left and went home and the news confirmed just that.  Luckily no one was injured but the fire department shut them down so the show was super short! 
We had a full weekend and a good time with my parents.  My mom is coming tomorrow to stay with little bit so I can take my oldest to the oral surgeon.  That's all for now!

A Visit To A Local Park

I never realized how many parks there were in Edmond.  They are all over the place.  The girls and I ran across this one on the way to the first day of summer camp.  So yesterday we decided it was time to check it out.  It is huge!  I have never seen slides so big on a local playground.

On the left side is what I would expect "normal" playground slides to look like.  I think we are going to have to go back so I can try the big slide....only when it is not over 100 degrees.  I don't want to burn my backside on the way down!!  I plan on taking the girls back to this park next week in the morning next week when it is not so hot.  It didn't take them long to get red faced and sweaty.

New Tile, New Toilet, New Toy!

We finally finished with the tile and grout and put the toilet back in the bathroom.  Now we just have to tile the tub/shower area and the bathroom will be done.  This project has taken forever!!
Doesn't it look great!  My dad did an awesome job on the tile (and the rest of the bathroom for that matter).  It is nice to have two potties in the house again.  With four of us sharing one potty there have been some close calls!!

We finished on Saturday afternoon and then mom and dad took the girls home with them.  Sunday we drove up and met my parents and then headed off to Bartlesville for a Father's Day cookout at my grandparents' house.  On the way we stopped at Aldi to pick up a few things.  We had been in a few days earlier and picked up the ad that was to start on Father's Day.  On the back page there was a picture of a giant water slide.  I had thought about it for a few days and then talked to my husband about it and we decided to go ahead and get it.  It is AWESOME!  The girls love it.  My husband also went down it a few times.  Check it out!

Once we got it all set up we called a couple of friends and they came over and everyone played for almost two hours.  It got a little muddy after awhile so I think I am going to have to move the slide every time we use it.  It was not hard to set up though!  I am glad we decided to get it.  Later!

Twilight Camp

Tomorrow night is the last night of Twilight Camp! I have to say I am sort of glad. It has been really hot and all you do out there is sweat. But the girls have had a ton of fun and they are earning their Daisy Journey patch (at least I think that is what it is called). My oldest is in Brownies but I haven't been able to take any pictures because I am a leader of the Daisy group. I will try to sneak off tomorrow and get some pictures.  Oh and by the way, she is yawning not screaming ;o).

Backyard Bath

Speaking of being in full summer mode, does anyone else have children that like to take a bath in the backyard kiddie pool?  Or is it just mine?  They got the idea to take a bath in the backyard with bubbles.

Oh well!  At least they are having fun.

I Got Nothin'

Yes I know, it's been a week since my last post.  Here's the deal.  Last Wednesday this big line of storms was headed toward Oklahoma county.  Right before it got here it split and pretty much missed us.  The sky looked awesome because you could see all the storm clouds with the sun shining behind them.  I ran to get my camera and took a bunch of pictures but when I came in and plugged the card into my computer they were gone.  POOF!  They had completely disappeared.  Turns out my memory card is bad and pictures just randomly go off into never never land.  So I have absolutely nothing for you and I don't think that the situation will be recreated anytime soon.  Oh well!

I was a little bummed that I didn't have the pictures to share so instead of blogging I turned to cleaning more clutter out of my house and have begun the garage sale preparations.  Over the next couple of weeks I will finish up and my neighbor and I will hopefully be ready for the garage sale!

So for now that's all I have.  We had dance recitals for the girls last weekend plus daddy/daughter camp.  There is only one more week of school for us and things will finally start winding down.  Yea!
